It’s officially spring and although it may not consistently feel like it yet, its time to start stocking up on those seasonal beauty must-haves. In anticipation of warmer times I’ve put together a list of products I’ll be adding to my beauty roster within the coming weeks.
Milk Makeup has created quite a bit of buzz since it came onto the scene with its innovative and robust product offering. There are a few products that have stood out to me, but their Makeup Cooling Water ($24) stick actually inspired this story. I read about it today and realized it is exactly what I need for those sticky and humid days to come. This cooling stick is made to sooth the skin in the middle of a long day and de-puff eyes with its marine minerals, seawater and firming caffeine formula. Simply smooth it on directly to your face, neck or anywhere you’re in need of some refreshment and let this cool product hydrate and energize your skin. This will absolutely be in my bag while at the Governor’s Ball music festival this summer.
The next product is by Urban Decay. When you can’t go bare faced and hate to see your makeup slowly drift away throughout the day, this De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray ($14) is just for you. Not only does it keep your sheen intact, but also it keeps your makeup afloat for hours after application. Its weightless formula keeps your foundation, eye shadow, blush etc. from sliding off and has patented Temperature Control Technology that keeps your makeup at a neutral temperature to reduce the amount of shine. It is the perfect product for maintaining a day to night look.
If you’re like me and need a little extra help on that t-zone area – couple the Urban Decay setting spray with Too Cool For School’s Dinoplatz Dear Brachiosaurus Blotting Paper ($8). Their oil blotting paper is made from natural hanji, a traditional Korean handmade paper that’s sourced from mulberry trees, which helps it to immediately absorb the oils on your face while still leaving your skin super soft. The case also comes with a reusable puff and mirror for a quick fix.
I don’t know why, but springtime always entices me to whiten my teeth. Super pearly whites just look even better with deep brown sun kissed skin. My go-to has always been the Crest 3-D White Strips ($54.99) – they’re drastically more affordable than going in to have your teeth whitened and they produce the same results.
If you’re like me, you’ve been drinking red wine all winter, which really stains the teeth – this is perfect for that transition to Rosé season!
