As a lover of makeup, I take skincare very very seriously. Without fabulous skin underneath your makeup it never looks as good. I totally get that simply using a makeup remover wipe and then going on your merry way may be much easier, but it’s so important to put in just a few extra minutes each morning and night to truly achieve flawless skin. It doesn’t have to be long at all, I can honestly say that I’ve developed a tried and true method for maintaining my own skin and it only takes about 5-minutes or less. So of course I had to share! I like to use a mixture of expensive and budget friendly items because for the most part the price tag doesn’t always mean much. You can still get the results you’d like with some drugstore brand products.
Before washing my face, I like to start off with a facial peel to get rid of all of that dead skin. The one I am using as loving, which I’ve previously reviewed here is The Body Shop Vitamin-C Glow Reveal Liquid Peel ($23). Vitamin-C works wonders when it comes to enhancing your skin’s glow, and this product makes it easier for a cleanser to get right to work. For my cleanser I have been using the Neutrogena (yup, Neutrogena) Long Lasting Shine Control Daily Scrub ($6), which has been doing a great job of keeping my grease at bay.
To follow, I give under my eyes some TLC using the fabulous Biossance Squalane Peptide Eye Gel ($54). This product is so good it literally sold out on Sephora’s website numerous times — it’s the real deal and completely worth the splurge. I had some dark circles before using it and I can honestly say that after about 2-weeks they were gone! I make sure to use it everyday, twice a day which helped me see these results. After that I like to use another Vitamin-C based product by Rutz Skincare, their Potent-C Anti-Aging Serum ($52) to once reduce fine lines and keep my skin looking radiant. I then moisturize using the POND’s Clarant B-3 Dark Spot Correcting Cream ($7), which keeps my skin hydrated and gets rid of those annoying dark spots and acne scars.
I then swipe on a bit of the Glossier Balm Dot Com in Coconut ($12) and breath in some Everyone Aromatherapy Blend Pure Essential Oil in Calm ($11) to keep myself at peace for the rest of the day or night.
Here’s a video to see my entire skincare routine in action. Enjoy!
