Boka is a new oral-care line that specializes in all-natural nontoxic products and tools that give your mouth an effective yet harmless clean. Boka’s product offering includes an electronic tooth brush (Boka Brush), floss, classic toothbrush, oral rinse (Cocorinse), Asana Tongue Cleaner and Ela Mint Toothpaste. The brand has created a toothpaste that features nano-hydroxyapatite, which is a mineral found in one’s teeth and bones. It was first used by NASA to help astronauts maintain strong bone health while they were in orbit.
For the past few weeks I’ve been using the Boka Brush ($75) as well as their Ela Mint Toothpaste ($10), and I have not been disappointed. It was actually a little shocking for me to feel such a drastic difference in the way my teeth were cleaned after only one use. Prior to the Boka Brush I did have an electronic toothbrush, but it was much harsher on my teeth and gums and I was constantly cleaning up the grime it left behind. The Boka Brush has charcoal activated bristles to help with whitening as well as prevent bacteria from growing on the brush. Once turned on, the Boka Brush has two different speeds and a two minute timer with 30-second intervals so you can pay adequate attention to each section of your mouth. So, what I would do is 30-seconds on the bottom right, bottom left, then top right and top left. Then I’d turn the brush back on to do 30-seconds on my tongue and the roof of my mouth.
Although the Boka Brush is $75, given that it’s long-lasting it is absolutely worth the splurge. It comes with two brush heads — and once you’ve used those, getting replacements is only $8 for another set of two. If electronic isn’t your jam, Boka also offers a classic tooth brush, which comes in pack of two for $10.
Those of you who read my blog quite often know I have a soft spot for a chic brand that gives back, and Boka does just that. For every Boka brush that is purchased, the brand will donate a toothbrush to their non-profit partner, Surge. Surge works to bring life-sustaining water to those in need. They also work together to provide oral health education to schools around the world!
Boka also offers a number of Oral Care plans that replenish your brushes, brush heads and other oral supplies quarterly. Check out more information on those, here. I love my Boka brush so much that my boyfriend is actually going to buy himself one. I also plan on purchasing their tongue scraper and floss, because it’s not just about clean teeth — fresh breath is an absolute must!
