I’m covering all things nails this week, and now that we’ve talked about nail health–let’s get into the best colors to try this fall. Whether you’ve decided to opt for a gel manicure, or regular polish, choosing the color is the best part. Although I love the fun shades of summer, rich fall hues are actually my favorite. If you’re looking for some inspiration for your next salon visit, I’ve got you covered. Here are the biggest nail color trends for fall 2019:
Greens
I’m starting out with what Refinery29 considers the new “It” color for fall, green. Along with it being a big color on the runway this season, green manicures have been popping up all over. From emerald to chartreuse, sage, and mint these shades are a must-add to your manicure rotation.
OPI in Things I’ve Seen in Aber-green ($13)
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish in Leaf Me Be ($5.99)
tenoverten in Liberty ($12)
Champagne + Blush
I’ve been rocking blush nails for the past month, and I’m obsessed. The chic subtlety to them is what has me hooked. They quite literally go with everything, and now that my nails are a bit longer they look even more elegant. For the ladies who like simplicity, this trend is right for you.
Essie Mirror Metallics Nail Polish Collection in Penny Talk ($9)
Kiko Milano Smart Nail Lacquer in Pearly Champagne ($2)
Dior Vernis in Enchanted ($28)
PaintBox Nail Lacquer in Like Mystery ($22)
Plums
I definitely foresee this color picking up during the holiday season. A rich plum is not only fun but a unique spin on the traditional festive color offering. To spice things up even more, opt for one with a shimmery finish.
Smith & Cult in A Little Underground ($18)
OPI in Boys Be Thistle-ing at Me ($13)
Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Polish in Heartbreaker ($8.99)
Deep Glossy Reds
I’ve said it a billion times, and I’ll say it again–red is my favorite color. The boldness, strength, and femininity of red nail polish gets me every time. It’s a classic color, and for fall 2019 we’re also going deeper with more maroon and Bordeaux tones.
OPI in A Little Guilt Under the Kilt ($13)
Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Pro in Spill The Wine ($20)
Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Polish in Queen of Hearts ($8.99)
Midnight Blue
Deep blues are slowly becoming among my favorite neutrals–yes, neutral. Whether that’s in clothing, accessories and now nails, I feel deep blue pairs so well with almost anything. These rich colors are sure to make a statement, without being too overbearing.
Zoya in Elliot ($10)
OPI in My Favorite Gal Pal ($13)
Jin Soon in Azurite ($18)
