I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I haven’t had my hair professionally cut since my big chop! Yes, I’ve gone a little over 2 years trimming my own natural hair. At first, I was a little weary, but given how expensive a visit to the natural hair salon is–I decided to give it a try. And I’m glad I did!
I just can’t justify spending over $200 for a trim and style. Especially since most salons have to straighten your hair to do so, and those that don’t charge even more. I took my time doing some research on best practices when trimming hair, and have since gotten more confident doing my own. So of course, I had to put together a tutorial. Here’s a step by step video on how I trim natural hair.
