I tried to lotion it awayyyyy, drink it awayyyy (with more water) … but this dry skin is putting up a real fight and simple one-step moisturizing isn’t going to cut it. So recently I’ve been layering body butter into my daily routine to rejuvenate my winter skin. After applying lotion, preferably Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant ($6), I have to add body butter on as well. Not only does it usually smell amazing, the difference between a body butter and body lotion is that ingredients in body butter are truly meant to provide long-lasting hydration. Body butter has a thicker texture that is composed of essential oils to provide deep hydration for the skin and protect it from the elements, predominately in the winter. I don’t generally wear it in the summer since it’s so heavy but around this time and for the next few months it’s a must.

At the moment the brand of body butter I’m using is Pacifica, specifically their Tahitian Gardenia scent ($15). It smells so delicious and I am literally complimented each time I wear it. The Tahitian Gardenia body butter has a vintage-inspired sweet, smooth and slightly citrusy aroma–and clings to my pours for all day moisture.

I recently got the Body Butter and Hand Cream Duo ($20) that Pacifica has for the holiday’s and I have to say it couldn’t have been at a better time. I also featured their mini body butter gift set in my holiday gift guide, it’s a great way to sample all the yummy scents they have to offer.
Here are some other body butters I’d recommend!

Gold Tin Body Butter by Dame Body ($15)

Olive and Green Tea Body Butter by Shea Moisture ($9.99)

Coconut Body Butter by The Body Shop ($21)

The Righteous Butter by Soap & Glory ($15)
