Sunday evenings for me are all about self-care these days. My ideal Sunday Funday is spent reviving my hair and skin from the past week’s wear and tear, so I can not only kill it on Monday, but look refreshed while doing so. This weekend I decided to document my current Sunday hair routine, with particular emphasis on a product that has played such a big part in how healthy and vibrant my newly natural hair is, Jamaican Black Castor Oil.
Now, I know there are tons of brands out there that produce Jamaican Black Castor Oil and for most this isn’t something new, but a few months ago I stumbled across and fell in love with JBCO by the brand Rooted Treasure. Now I can’t look back. Not only do they make 100% pure JBCO, but their overall aim is to revive merchant markets and bring jobs back to many people in Jamaica. I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this but I was actually born in Jamaica so this brand and their message really resonated with me. So of course I had to give them a try. Fortunately, they haven’t disappointed.
What I love about JBCO as I mentioned is that it is multi-purpose and pairs well with other products, you can literally use it from head to toe. I use it to help promote my hair’s growth and of course lock in moisture, which is especially important now that we’re just entering fall and the temperature will only go down from here. It’s becoming prime season for brittle ends and dry scalps, so I’m making sure to nip that in the bud early.
I also use JBCO on my skin, it’s made my heels feel brand new (especially after running around in Louboutins during fashion week). I apply the Rooted Treasure JBCO everywhere and it has literally worked wonders, from softening my cuticles to helping my eyebrows grow fuller. To-date, it’s the best version I’ve used.
