Movita Organics: The Black-Owned Women’s Multivitamin That Actually Works

[dropcap] I [/dropcap] have been on the hunt for the perfect multivitamin for quite some time now. In the past I’ve written about Care/of, which I do like — but to be honest after a while there were just too many pills to be taking on a daily basis. My biggest concern is maintaining energy levels, I’m not a coffee drinker and I’m not someone who snacks on fruits and veggies all day. So for me, vitamins are the answer. I was pleased to have stumbled across Movita Organics on Instagram a little while ago, where their bio reads “the all-natural multivitamin made to motivate you.” I took a look at the website and was immediately intrigued by the way they formulate their vitamins.

There have been numerous debates regarding the importance of multivitamins, given that a lot of the nutrients we need are simply found in the different foods we eat. Therefore, what makes Movita stand out is that they utilize pure and organic whole foods to create each vitamin. Unlike a number of other vitamin brands that instead create a refined and synthetic version, which depletes the full nutritional value.

I did a bit more digging on the brand and was pleased to see that Movita was created by Tonya Lewis Lee, health and wellness advocate, filmmaker and wife of Director Spike Lee. She hopes to make Movita a safe space for women offering products to increase their health and wellness.

Within a few days after I began taking the Movita One-a-Day Multivitamin ($37.95) I felt a shift in my energy levels. To start, they don’t make you feel nauseous if taken on an empty stomach, which is a tremendous relief. Having to wait until after I’ve eaten can cause me to forget, so they’re ideal for taking while running out the door to work or before the gym in the AM. I’m not a night-owl, nor am I a morning person — and what I noticed is that I was actually more energized in the evenings, after a long day. In the morning, I got up without that usual grogginess I’ve always experienced — outside of general crankiness about having to get up, ha!

In the future they plan to launch prenatal and postnatal vitamins, a beauty specific vitamin to support healthy hair, skin and nails, as well as one for Vitamin D. I’ll definitely be on the look out!

      Hi Sarah,

I haven’t tried CBD Gummies, but I have had oral tincture oil that has worked well for me. I recently used the Whoopi & Maya “Relax” oil, which I liked. https://whoopiandmaya.com/. Let me know if you end up trying the CBD gummies and how you like them!
