[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t isn’t too often you find a skincare brand who’s creation was directly influenced by mental health. So, after reading more about ISO Skincare and it’s Founder, Aniqah Iman, who’s battle with anxiety led her to develop the brand, I knew it was going to be a game changer. People like myself who have anxiety understand that it not only effects your mental state, but physically can take a toll as well. The most obvious sometimes being breakouts on the face. So knowing that the brand’s founder has a similar experiences to myself, which led to her own self-care journey, made me even more eager to give the products a try.

ISO Skincare positions itself as a lifestyle brand, with particular emphasis on treating skin from the inside out by utilizing all natural ingredients to restore it’s radiance. As I waited for my products to arrive, Aniqah sent over a very detailed day, night and weekly regime for me to stick to once received. Each routine was specifically tailored to my skin’s needs, which I had outlined for her in our initial conversations. I have naturally oily skin, and lately because I’ve been wearing a bit more makeup than normal to shoot for my blog, coupled with the stress of now running my own business — my skin has not been cooperating. I’ve also noticed a number of pimples popping up on my chest lately, so wanted products that would help keep those at bay.

The ISO Skincare system requires up to 5-steps, which may sound tedious, but honestly, a long skincare routine can be beneficial to your self-care practice. I personally love a multi-step skincare routine in the morning and at night. It creates a therapeutic experience of sorts by allowing me to take time to truly pamper myself. ISO purposely sets out to make it so women have no choice but to indulge in themselves for a moment.

I received the “Get Your Glow Back” Black Currant Seed Bundle ($70), which includes the Hibiscus Sugar Exfoliating Face + Body Scrub ($10), Black Currant + Honey Whipped Cleanser ($20), pH Balancing Toner ($12), Glow Nighttime Serum ($20) and Black Currant + Shea Whipped Moisturizer ($15). I also received their Purifying French Green Clay Mask ($13) and Detoxifying Bentonite Clay Mask ($13).

I won’t go through each specific product, but I will say that I’ve stuck to the routine daily and the results are impressive. Not only have I noticed the difference, but I have gotten so many compliments on my skin within the last week alone. One of my favorite products from the line is the Hibiscus Sugar Exfoliating Face + Body Scrub. I’ve actually stayed away from scrubs lately because I’ve found most to be too harsh, especially if used daily. This one, however, is a gentle scrub that doesn’t leave my face feeling stripped afterwards, it removes bacteria while still giving your skin back some moisture. Not to mention it tastes great, ha! (though I wouldn’t recommend having it as a snack)

Another product by the brand that I love is the pH Balancing Toner. A good toner is essential when it comes to clearing up dark marks and evening out the skin. This one is infused with Rice Water, Apple Cider Vinegar, Vegetable Glycerin and Hibiscus Flower — all of which aid in clearing impurities.

This past Sunday, I noticed a pimple showing up smack in the middle of my face and I was mortified! Mainly because I had my first brand campaign shoot the following morning (more on that at a later date..). I decided to do the weekly routine Aniqah sent over, which incorporated the Detoxifying Bentonite Clay Mask. I sent up a prayer, used this mask as well as the other products that night — and the next morning the pimple was completely gone. I wish I had take a before and after picture, because I was shocked. It didn’t even leave a dark mark behind!

ISO Skincare

Overall, ISO Skincare is definitely one to watch. Though a relatively small brand at the moment, I am completely here for it’s vision, and the products actually get the job done. I’m a supporter, and looking forward to seeing where they go from here!
