I am by no means a morning person. Neither am I a night owl–I really just love my sleep, ha! I’m usually really good about falling asleep as soon as I hit the pillow, but lately, I’ve had so much on my mind so it’s been more difficult. Now that I’m an entrepreneur and freelancer when it’s time for me to go to bed I’ve found myself planning for the next day or week. Instead of actually relaxing. I’ve also developed a habit of waking up in the middle of the night, which is very new! So I knew I needed to do something about it. Ironically, around the same time, I got an e-mail about a new launch from Nature’s Bounty. And one of the products was just what I needed.
Back in April, Nature’s Bounty expanded its collection of dietary supplements to include 7 new beauty-specific options: ClearComplexion, EvenBeauty, GlowOn, HappySmile, MoistureTreat, SkinElasticity, and GoodnightLovely. Of the seven my interest was most piqued by the GoodnightLovely supplement.
These mint green soft gels are meant to help induce a better night’s sleep and overnight skin hydration. To do so it’s made with melatonin and hyaluronic acid, which I’m obsessed with. So I, of course, gave it a try.
I’ve been taking it most nights for the past month and I can honestly say I felt the effects immediately. Within less than 10-minutes, I felt drowsy and from there am actually able to sleep through the entire night. I was hesitant about taking a product with melatonin at first because most are known to leave you feeling super groggy in the morning, cause sleepwalking, and vivid dreams. Fortunately, this hasn’t been the case for me at all. In fact, I feel it’s helped me re-develop my natural sleep rhythm. So after a while I didn’t have to take them every single night.
As for the skincare aspect of it–I’m honestly not sure if it did anything on that front. I’m pretty diligent about my skincare routine and already use hyaluronic acid serum so I haven’t noticed a difference. Not that, that matters anyway because my main goal with these supplements was sleep. And that’s been covered!
Each bottle comes with 70 soft gel capsules, which are easy to swallow. The dosage is for two capsules a night before bedtime, so one bottle lasts little over a month, which is pretty good for the price ($17.99/$19.99 at Target and Ulta). Given that GoodnightLovely is formulated with melatonin it’s recommended to use consistently for 2-months max and take a weekly break in between. Have you ever used sleep aids? Let me know in the comments section!
