Believe it or not, these days I am really trying to cut back on my skincare routine. Seriously, less is honestly more–it’s all about having a few solid products that really pack a punch. And ladies and gentleman, I’ve got a new one in my arsenal that has truly rounded out my routine, Dr. Roebuck’s “Perky” Collagen Boosting Serum.
Dr. Roebuck’s is an Australian brand run by two sisters, Kim and Zoe, who wanted to find a solution for the dry skin and sensitivity they were experiencing after long days at the beach. About 40 years ago, their parents–both doctors, developed a skincare formula by removing ingredients, instead of adding them. Sticking to this model, both Kim and Zoe developed their own line of simple, clean, and highly effective skincare products.
Keeping that in mind, I decided to give the brand a try. With key ingredients such as Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamins A, C, and E it’s no wonder this is their *best-selling* serum. Squalane and Hyaluronic acid are two of my favorite ingredients so I figured “Perky” would do well for me, but what I didn’t expect was to see results almost immediately.
After washing my face with my usual cleanser, I applied their Collagen Boosting Serum to very damp skin (the best way to apply any product with hyaluronic acid), let it dry and then applied my moisturizer and undereye cream. Before I even got to the moisturizer, my skin looked and felt more supple, seriously! I was shocked, and ever since then, I’ve been hooked. Sometimes, I have to stop myself from using it twice a day because I just love the luminous look it gives me. It helps create the perfect canvas before I put on makeup, people have told me that my skin these days looks like it’s glowing, and I see it too!
Dr. Roebuck’s is available online and at Sephora. The “Perky” Collagen Boosting Serum is $60, which I know is a bit pricey, but it’s worth it. If you’re interested but might not be able to gather the coin for it right away, I’d suggest purchasing from their website. That way, you can use Afterpay and pay for it in installments (4 payments of $15).
