I’m going to start this by saying, I have a really rough relationship with my pits. Ever since I was younger, I’ve been a big sweater. And along with that sweat came a lot of funk. I remember being in elementary school and sneaking off to the bathroom to stuff my shirt with paper towel, hoping to absorb it so it wouldn’t seep through! I used every extra-strength option possible, and eventually landed on Certain Dri, which isn’t that great for you but calmed things down. My sweating issues were a mix of puberty (of course) and my anxiety. Anytime I felt anxious or startled, I’d feel a twitch in my pits and a rush of funky sweat. This persisted through most of my adolescence.
Fortunately, things have since leveled out. However, I’ve been left with super dark pigmentation in my underarms, which remind me of my humble beginnings. I’m pretty much used to it, but I figure the continued use of aluminum-filled antiperspirants isn’t doing me any good. So, I decided to look into other options.
I’ve given the natural deodorant journey a try a few times since. I tried several well-known natural deodorant brands, like Crystal, and Native–yet none have worked. Within an hour or so not only would my pits be drenched in sweat, but it’d smell like I didn’t even shower, to begin with. Something I hadn’t experienced since childhood! I barely made it to a week each time, and eventually just gave up. That is, until recently.
I decided to give natural deodorant one more try. I’d heard a lot of great things about Megababe, especially their anti-thigh chaffing roll-on and other practical products for the body issues we don’t always talk about.
I ordered the mini version to start because I didn’t want to waste my coin if this too didn’t work out. Well, now I’m wishing I had gotten the full-size! Almost instantly, I fell in love with the fragrance of their Rosy Pits Daily Deodorant ($14). Other natural brands didn’t quite have the same soothing scent, so I knew we were off to a good start. After an hour, barely any sweat and the rosy aroma was still going strong.
A few hours later, I could still smell hints of rose and no stench in sight. It wasn’t until between 6 to 8 hours later that I noticed it was wearing off–but that’s to be expected. To release the toxins and ween your body off of aluminum the transition to natural deodorant can be a sweaty and stinky one. But it seemed that with Megababe’s daily deodorant, this process would be much easier than in the past.
To help with the transition, I also purchased the Rosy Pits Deodorant Wipes ($14), in case I needed a refresh at any point. They’re small, biodegradable and fit perfectly into my purse. They came in particularly handy during homecoming weekend, where I was running around in sweaters from event to event and didn’t anticipate it being as warm as it was. And for the most part, I’d only use the wipes as a precaution, my pits never really got bad while I was out and about.
At this point, it’s been close to a month since I’ve begun using Megababe and my underarms have pretty much transitioned. I’m now a natural deodorant user, woohoo! For those of you looking to make the transition, Megababe recently released the Happy Pits Underarm Mask ($16), which I wish they had when I first bought the deodorant. It’s essentially a charcoal & kaolin clay mask to help draw out impurities, exfoliate and clarify so that the process of transitioning is more seamless.
Along with the fact that their deodorant actually works, I appreciate Megababe’s thoughtful array of products for all our body’s needs. I’ll definitely be a long-time customer!

Hey!! Omg, that’s so ironic! I’m glad to hear that Megababe works for you, it’s literally the only one I’ve used that works for me, haha! So so happy this post was helpful 🙂
