Summer is upon us, and now it’s time to kick our nail game up a notch. Fun colors, unique designs, trying new shapes–when the weather gets hot, it’s all fair game. Whether you’ve become you’re own manicurist, or if you’re living somewhere that’s beginning to open up shops, I figured why not share some nail trends for summer 2020. These are meant to help inspire your next salon visit or at-home pampering session.
Multi-Colored Nails
Given that a lot of us are now painting our own nails, we’ve got to get innovative. And since we aren’t all professionally trained, there’s only so much some of us can do in terms of nail art. This trend was already in the works at the end of last summer, but has picked up a bit now that we’re at home. Multi-colored nails are a super easy and fun way to spice up your manicure.
Negative Space Nails
I personally love this look, and hope to someday re-visit my nail tech to have it done. It’s a unique, and very chic spin on your usual manicure.
Halo Nails
Similar to the negative space nails, the halo nail trend is all about a neutral base and then spicing things up with swipes along the perimeter.
Animal Print Nails
Take it to the wild with these animal print inspired nails. You can go super literal, with cheetah or zebra print, or switch up the colors for a psychedelic look.
Tropical Nails
Although we can’t really go on the vacations we want just yet, there’s nothing wrong with expressing the beach vibes with your manicure. The tropical nail trend is great for those of us who miss jet setting.
Ombré Nails
Gotta love ombré, it’s always so fun and pleasing to the eye. And the ombré nail trend is no different. Pick a hue and gradually let it fade out for a nice pop of color.
Brown Nails
A more subdued trend than the others, but still makes a statement. Brown nails have been picking up in popularity as of late and I’m definitely here for it!
The New French Manicure Nails
I absolutely love this new take on the classic french manicure with uniquely colored tips. Especially on almond-shaped nails. This too, will be a look I’m requesting from my nail tech as soon as we’re able to go again, safely!
