The Best Self-Care Journals of 2021

I talk about journaling and its importance in the self-care process quite often, but for a lot of people, it isn’t so easy to simply pick up a pen, paper, and write. Especially if you’ve never been the journaling type. And journaling in my opinion doesn’t have to be one size fits all. We each have different goals and ways of expressing ourselves through writing.

There are some of us who can free-write and allow our thoughts to roam the pages, and for others prompts, themes or questions are much more effective. For those who fit into the latter, there have been a number of self-care journals that have popped up in recent years. Here are a few of the best one’s I’ve come across that are worth checking out as we set our intentions for the new year:

Self-Care Master Plan: A Guided Journal for Feeling Good by Free Period Press ($12.00)

This postcard-sized journal features various prompts on each page that you can fill in yourself and tear out to post up in your home. Prompts include “Things I like to do”, “People I like to see,” “Power songs,” and more to help you feel good.

Today I Affirm: A Journal that Nurtures Self-Care by Alex Elle ($17.99)

This journal includes a number of questions and prompts that are meant to help cultivate positive self-talk in a way that’s stress-free and easy to understand. Not to mention, it’s beautiful!

The Five-Minute Journal by Intelligent Change ($24.95)

This very popular guided journal uses positive psychology to help improve your mood. It includes prompts and questions that focus your attention on the good in life in only 5-minutes.

MY Journal Planner by MYnd Map ($43.00)

This comprehensive journal is the ultimate in mindfulness, gratitude, and goal setting. It’s a set of 13-weeks with 6 key themes that help you to highlight and reflect on the areas in your life that are important but often neglected.

Feel Your Best Wellness Workbook by BAN.DO ($18.00)

This journal features over 100 pages on goals, exploration, action, and relaxation, with artwork, tips, tear-away cards, balance charts, and check-ins!
