I *love* a slow morning. Easing into my day with a routine that nourishes my mind and body has helped tremendously in setting me up for success.
So often, we jolt out of bed, or on the flip side hit snooze more times than we need to, before grabbing our phones and allowing others into our space. Which is why I actually don’t sleep with my phone in the room. Instead, I open up the curtains, make my bed, and then nestle into writing in my journal.

Yes, I’m a morning journaler! I keep it pretty specific, and write out three things I’m grateful for, three things I’d like to manifest, and from there–three affirmations. This helps me to feel more confident, and intentional as I transition to the day ahead.
After this mindfulness routine, I then tend to my body. I do some light stretching to get the blood flowing, and from there, I’ve recently started to do deep breathing practices. I’m currently in a 30-day challenge, and have seen such a difference! This has been beneficial in helping me manage my stress and anxiety.

Meditation and mindfulness are practices — often using breathing, quiet contemplation or sustained focus on something, such as an image, phrase or sound — that help you let go of stress and feel more calm and peaceful. Think of it as a mini-vacation from the stress in your life! So, if you’re like me and don’t like an intense workout so early in the morning, this has been a *great* alternative.
I’m also very mindful of what I ingest in the morning. I loooove water, and it’s a must to keep me hydrated before I have breakfast. Because skipping out on that first meal of the day is a huge no-no for me. And since I’m not a coffee person, it helps me start off the day right.

I know making breakfast in the morning can feel pretty daunting. So, I keep things simple with a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios, which is a staple in our household. So much so, my husband David and I always get the Family Size, even though it’s just the two of us!

Honey Nut Cheerios is not only delicious, but those wholesome little “o’s” they can help lower cholesterol as part of a heart healthy diet.1 David and I take our health pretty seriously, so the fact that something as simple as a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios can support my heart healthy lifestyle, makes it a key part of our morning breakfast routine.

Once I’ve finished the yummy deliciousness of my Honey Nut Cheerios, I take a steamy shower, do my skincare routine, spritz on a little perfume, and get ready to let my creative juices flow.
As a solopreneur, it’s important I prioritize filling my cup each and every morning, that way, I have enough to give to the world around me.
