For women of color when we think of blush, rosy pinks and deep reds are often the go-to—sometimes even mauve. Therefore, it honestly never occurred to me that I’d look good in orange blush until I received the new Glossier Cloud Paint in Dawn ($18) midway through the summer. One of their original Cloud Paint colors, Haze, is my absolute favorite and made me a believer when it comes to liquid blush. So, I was open to experimenting with Dawn (which I’m rocking in the photos for this post), but didn’t have high hopes for how it would look on my skin tone. Fortunately, it gave me a more organic flush of color that complimented my undertones in a way that didn’t look overly done.
What I love about orange blush is that it doesn’t simply give you a rosy cheek—instead, the look favors more of a sun-kissed glow, which I’m sure we’re all missing now that the summer is truly over. Aside from my fav, by Glossier—here are some other women of color friendly orange blush shades you should try this fall.
