The holidays just ended, but here we are gearing up for yet another set of gift-giving. And whether you’re in a long-term relationship or just getting started with a new flame, you may want to do something special for your significant other. Gone are the days of simply sexy lingerie and giving sex as a gift (although it can, of course, be part of the package). It’s okay to show your man he’s important by giving him an item or experience he’ll cherish just as much (if not more!) for time to come.
This year, my husband and I hired a private chef, our favorite, Chef Lauren Owens, and will be having a romantic dinner at home. So, to compliment that, I plan on showering him with some gifts as well. He knows I love him from all of my acts of service, words of affirmation, physical touch, and quality time, so I think it’s okay to *also* splurge on a little something, something he can use in his day-to-day.
I consider myself to be a pretty damn good gift giver so what better time than now to spread the gospel, ha! Here are a few gift ideas for you to treat your man this Valentine’s Day:
I’m starting with experiences because this is generally a go-to in our household. Material things break, get lost, wear out, and so forth, but experiences live in your memories forever. Not to mention, they’re often things you can both enjoy! Here are a few to consider:
- Whiskey/spirits/brewery tour and tasting
- Chef’s table at a restaurant or private chef
- Staycation at a unique hotel or Airbnb nearby
- Boxing classes
Give the gift of helping them grow! With a Masterclass Gift Pass, he’ll have the option to learn a new trade or take up a new hobby in the comfort of his own home.
Ladies, we’re not the only ones on our cozy loungewear kick these days. Men have definitely been stepping their game up this season, so why not add to his collection? If you’re open to splurging, Mr. Porter has this luxe Organic Cotton-Jersey half-zip sweatshirt and sweatpants he’ll love. Or if you’d like something a bit more cost-effective that still gives the same vibe, Gap has a great vintage fleece hoodie and sweatpant set as well!
David Yurman’s jewelry is timeless. And for a love that lasts a lifetime, one of his pieces is the perfect gift for your special someone. Whether you’d like it to compliment a watch he already has or as an introduction to wearing jewelry, the Chevron Triple Wrap Bracelet is fly and versatile.
Take the jewelry gifting a step further with a Metal x Wire Legacy Ring. Metal x Wire is a unisex demi-fine jewelry brand with a selection of pieces sure to set his collection apart. For the couple that’s been together a while, this ring is the perfect addition to your own unique legacy and can be passed down for generations. Not to mention, the brand founder is a Jamaican woman, so you know I’m partial!
Okay, I had to add at least one sexy item to the mix and I’ve been seeing this massage candle everywhere so I had to share. What’s a massage candle you ask? Well, it’s a candle that once melted and extinguished can be poured directly onto the skin for a warm and tantalizing massage. Maude’s Burn Massage candles stand out because of their ingredients, skin-softening jojoba, and soybean oils. You also have the choice of going unscented or choosing from one of their delicious fragrances.
Is your man always complaining about neck and back pain? This massager may just do the trick. The Shiatsu Neck and Back Massager gets deep in there to combat any muscle soreness or neck stiffness. If the pain isn’t *that* severe, it’s also great for relaxing in general after a long day or week, using its soothing heat technology.
This insulated coffee and tea maker is perfect for the guy on the go! Brew a cup of traditional or french press coffee using its double micro-filters that trap all the grit and sludge for ultra-smooth coffee every single time.
It’s time you upgrade him from rocking the socks and slides around the house to these comfy UGG Scuff Slippers that feel like a hug for your feet. I’ve recently become an UGG believer and I’m telling you, these are a great gift especially during the winter months.
You can never go wrong with a set of chic glasses for his evening sips because if your man loves his Whiskey, Bourbon, Scotch, you know he’ll get good use out of them. These Double Old Fashioned glasses from Williams-Sonoma are sturdy and a great conversation piece. To take it a step further, try complimenting them with a large ice cube tray.
